We strive to offer you a personal service, please observe our Guidelines for the best reproduction. Our guidelines for sending in materials are summarised on this page; and on the upper menu ART, you will find key information concerning Picture Quality, Media Guideline, and Art Guidelines where the important 5mm Rule is explained in details illustrated by plenty of examples.

As standard, we will hand scan your art and apply some basic digital enhancement to make your art shine, however, our service has limitations, it does NOT cover the more time consuming digital work related to defects from 5mm Rule, art not made onto our specified template, or the digital file of your art / photo / logo not meeting our guidelines, etc. This type of extra digital work is £3-£5 per job if this can be done.

When sending digital files, please set the ‘image Size’ on your device to ACTUAL or ORIGINAL, not medium or small

NAMING ART & DIGITAL FILES Instructions for order with more than 1 design
> On the art template, record as ‘Design 1’, ‘Design 2’, etc. If sending art digitally, name Digital Art File as ‘Design 1’, ‘Design 2’, etc
> Name Digital Photo File as ‘Photo 1’ for Design 1, ‘Photo 2’ for Design 2, etc
> Name Digital Logo File as ‘Logo 1’ for Design 1, ‘Logo 2’ for Design 2, etc

Follow the guidelines below when sending in materials to avoid delays or additional costs.

ART - 2 Ways to send
The art must be made onto our specified A4 template, otherwise, we charge minimum £3 if we can work from your substandard material. Our pricing for each card design includes the processing of only 1 digital file or 1 hard copy art, if you exceed the limit, we will charge you £3 per extra file.
If you want any simple text to be printed as part of the card back design, please clearly write the text on the bottom part of Template Area 2, and indicate by adding a brackets, example:
( Art made by Sam, Age 2 ).

1. Digital Art Send with order form
Your original hard copy A4 art template must be scanned on a flatbed scanner @300dpi, best quality. This file can be j-peg or pdf.
For files that do NOT meet our guidelines, such as a photograph of the art, anything under 300dpi or requiring resizing, any other unmentioned format, etc, we charge £3 for extra digital work if we can work on it, and the reproduction may be compromised.

2. Hard Copy Art Send after payment acknowledgement
We can hand scan your flat A4 art and return it with your card order for free, as long as the art does NOT contain materials we won’t scan. Under our discretion, we may scan your art with restrictive materials, however, this will be processed as a ‘special scan’ and the extra service is £3, plus £2 surcharge to cover bank fees and admin as this will generate another payment.

Send art in a stiff envelope, write your return address and DO NOT BEND on both sides.

Please ensure to pay the correct postage to avoid a hefty Insufficient Postage Fund. Royal Mail prices are based on service + dimensions + weight. A regular stamp is unsuitable, and even a Large Letter stamp may not be enough if your packet is over 100g

Photo File Send with order form
Adding a photograph of the artist on the card back can make your card even more memorable, and using a digital photo file will surely return a much better quality reproduction compare to adding a photo as a collage.
Your photo should be at least 4 x 6 cm, about passport size of a close-up head & shoulders, good quality, clear and not too dark.
The digital file should be print-ready, at least 300 dpi, best quality, j-peg or pdf. If any extra digital work is required, the cost is £3 on top of our standard charge.

Logo File Send with order form
Adding a logo can be a great way to promote your business. As standard, it will be positioned on the card back lower left corner. If there is more than 1 logo, we will place it next to the 1st logo along the bottom. Upon your request, we can position the logo in the card back centre, but the standard card back design would be ommitted.

GUIDLEINES Wholly print-ready, in vector format, which can be any of the following:
• AI (Adobe Illustrator Artwork)
• EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)
• PDF (Portable Document Format)
• SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)
When Vector is not available, your file should be at least 300dpi.

Files that do NOT meet our guidelines We will charge £5 for extra digital work on top of the standard charge if we can make the logo passable for printing; however, this type of work has limitations and won’t reproduce sharply like a vector file. We will keep this ‘fixed’ logo on file for up to 12 months. If you wish to use it again, you only need to pay the standard £3 charge.
